How to Be A Prince (58 of 65)

How to Be A Prince

The whole row about Prince Edward sending a television camera crew to follow him around, the whole trauma of his mothers life after her separation.
And in the way that she was hounded on a daily basis every time she left Kensington Palace will have left it's scars.
Whether William likes it or not he's going to have to learn to play the media game and l suspect that he will play it in a very cautious and a very conservative way giving the least he can to the media.
If any outside force can make or break the monarchy it's the media.
Whatever William feels he can't avoid them, so how should he deal with them?
We have probably the most savage media in the world.
They wouldn't agree with me but that's not surprising.
But in the early days he's going to need people around him that know the media game, because the media in this country is a minefield and you can be blown up very easily, you need protection, you need advice you need guidance.

But who should William turn to for advice.
Every decision about his life generates some sort of publicity - like the trip to Chile after he left school.
When you're 18 you just want to sort out your own life, you are obsessed with you know your own individual freedom and a gap year is a good way of expressing that.
